Adoption Fees and What They Cover
PUPPY (Under 1yr.) ADOPTION FEE: $300-$350
(Each pet's adoption fee is listed in their individual profile)
INCLUDES:
- AT LEAST 3 Wellness Checks
- Parvo Test (under 6 months) OR Heartworm Test and Microfilaria screening(over 6 months)
- ALL 3 PUPPY SHOTS (under 4 months) OR Yearly Booster (over 6 months)
- (Distemper/Adenovirus Type-2/ParaInfluenza/Parvovirus)
- 3 month Distemper/Parvo Booster (age appropriate)
- 4 month Distemper/Parvo Booster (age appropriate)
- Bordetella Vaccination (kennel cough prevention)
- Bordetella Booster (usually given 2 weeks after initial vaccination)
- AT LEAST 3 Rounds of Dewormer
- AT LEAST 3 Fecal Float Analyses
- Microchip Implantation
- Microchip Registration
- Any other medical care or medications your adopted pet needed while in our care (noted on your pet's medical records)
- Free First Vet Exam and 50% Spay/Neuter Discount* at Animal Hospital at the Crossing in Champaign, IL.
*Spay/neuter discount applies to pets 6 months of age and younger. Your adopted pet must be spayed or neutered AT or BEFORE 6 months of age in accordance with our adoption contract and Illinois state law. If you are having trouble completing the surgery within the specified timeframe, please contact us.

ADULT DOG (Over 1yr.) ADOPTION FEE: $225-$300

INCLUDES:

- FIV/FELV Test
- ALL 3 KITTEN SHOTS (Under 6 months) OR YEARLY SHOTS (Over 6 months)
- AT LEAST 1 Round of Dewormer
- AT LEAST 1 Fecal Float Analysis
- Microchip Implantation
- Microchip Registration

 Every Penny Counts
MARS is a PRIVATE, No-Kill rescue service with a shelter facility in southern Illinois. Because we are a private organization, we rely SOLELY on adoption fees to fund our programs. We do not receive any government funding, grants or other state funding AT ALL. We do this so that we can operate under our own higher standard of care, which has been praised by our adopters, vets and trainers.
We work very hard to give each pet tons of attention and love while they are with us, to help them make a better lifelong companion for you!
Contributions are gratefully accepted so that we may continue to provide a safe, warm shelter, quality dog food, toys, supplies, and medical care for many more animals.
