Meet Dixie!
This sweet girl is in search of a new family. Dixie was originally adopted from our program as a puppy, but her family is going through a difficult situation and cannot keep her. Dixie has been raised around young children and does well with other dogs. She is potty trained and knows some basic commands. She would prefer a home without other small critters (hamsters, pet rats or mice, ferrets, etc) as she likes to chase them and try to "play" with them, which they do not appreciate. She does fine with cats that are used to dogs and don't dart away, but she will chase cats and annoy them if they don't like dogs. If you are looking for a sweet, playful and adorable companion, Dixie may be a good match for you.

- Please note that because our shelter is located in southern Illinois, about 3 hours south of Champaign, our animals are available for adoption in Champaign only during scheduled events, and are available in Murphysboro, IL between events, by appointment.
